Congratulations to all graduates of the class 2020. I hope you had a safe and fun weekend. Unfortunately, I was not able to logon to the link that was provided. I hope everything went well.
At Menihek we appreciate all of our students who are engaging on a daily/weekly basis and encourage them to continue to do so. If you have not, there is no pressure, please join us at your convenience. Learning never stops!
For this week's learning, please accept the invite into my google classroom. If you have issues connecting, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] Thanks and have a great week.
May 19 to May 22, Math 3208
Hi Everyone. Happy Graduation Week ! This week we will begin the second last unit in the course and we be studying the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions. Remember you can email me anytime and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If we need to google meet individually, I will do that as well.

This week we will be looking at applications of Inverse Trig as well we will begin the last type of functions we will study in this course. In Math 3200 you were introduced into Logarithmic functions last week. It is necessary to review last week's lessons in that course if you have not already done so as it is connected to this week's topics. We will begin applications of inverse trig and then move into Unit 6, the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions.
Assignment 8 coming soon. Work must be shown to receive the assignment. You will have the opportunity to take an advantage of an assignment for further practice or to try and upgrade your current grade. Professional discretion will be used whether the evaluation will benefit you overall. Otherwise, your current standing will remain the same. Have a good week!
May 4 to May 8, Math 3208
Good day everyone. This week we will continue to work with inverse trig functions. You need to be familiar with logarithms before we begin the next unit on the derivatives of Exponential and Logarithmic functions. So this week we will continue to practice and learn derivatives of trig and inverse trig functions. You will need your math 3200 information sheet. If you don't have it, it will be posted below.
Please review/watch the following:

Practice Exercises May 4 to May 8 Solutions are included.
There will be a short assignment coming on the derivatives of trig and inverse trig functions. I will use my professional judgement when viewing your work and assign a grade only if it is beneficial to your overall grade. Have a good week!
April 27 to May 1, Math 3208
Any student having problems accessing their NLESD email account are asked to contact Mr. White to have your password changed.
For Math 3208, you should not begin this work until you have completed last week's work.
This week the focus will be inverse trig functions arcsin x, arccos x and arctan x. They are also known as sin ^-1 which read as inverse sin etc.
Welcome back everyone. I certainly miss you all and wish I was there in person to continue your future learning connected to your post secondary studies. These are trying times and we will work together to get through this to our best of our capabilities.
The focus this week will be the limits/derivatives of trigonometric functions as they are linked with the next unit Logarithms. We then will proceed onto Inverse Trig as the weeks proceed.
If you still have your latest assignment on the applications of derivatives, please hold onto to it for now.
April 20--24. What should I do?
Copy the following into your browser and watch these from CDLI. (And no there is NO final exam as mentioned in the videos :-) ) Videos A and B are introducing limits with trig functions which where we were about to start. VIDEO C, D, and E are imperative to watch as it is linked to the CPT and Math 1000 etc.

COMMIT TO MEMORY at 12:34 in the video in VIDEO C
Don't linger so much on how the actual rules are derived. There are 6 rules you need to learn. MAKE SURE you have the rule sheet printed off in front of you in the pdf doc below.
Here they are as a pdf document. Print these off so they are in front of you al all times. Commit them to memory. There are two further examples on this pdf with the chain rule which is VIMP as well.
Here are some further examples of videos of trig functions. There are excellent examples here as well.
D) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_niP0JaOgHY
In the video next he mentions Arcsin x or inverse sine. You have NOT learned those derivatives yet.
I am available to answer questions for this course by email on April 23 at 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. If there are commonalities, I will address them in a group email. Thanks have a good week.
